Quality assurance and quality control of blood and blood products laboratory
The quality assurance and quality control of blood and blood products laboratory is an independent structure, subordinated directly to the director of the National Center of Hematology and Transfusiology. It consists of two functional units; 1. Diagnostic unit, including a clinical microbiology laboratory and a serological laboratory 2. Unit for quality control of blood and blood products, including functional units for microbiological, biological, chemical, biochemical and immunological control The quality assurance and quality control of blood and blood products laboratory participates actively in the overall activities of the National center: 1. Diagnostic activities - clinical microbiology and serological testing 2. Microbiological monitoring of environment and staff 3. Quality control of blood products 4. Quality assurance 5. Consultative and methodical activities in the field of transfusion hematology 6. Research in the field of transfusion hematology and microbiology 7.
