Our Mission:

ü      Developing and introducing of new diagnostic methods and providing the quality of the laboratory investigations.

Activities:

The Laboratory is a part of “Diagnostic Section“ of National CERN of Hematology and Transfusiology (NCHT), that serves patients from the Clinical Section and the Consulting Room of NCHT, as well as from other hospitals in Sofia and patients who are referred here from throughout Bulgaria.

The main service of the laboratory includes performance of:

ü      Clinical - chemistry analysis (enzymes, substrates, electrolytes) in serum and other biological liquids.

ü      Routine hematological and urine analyses.

ü      Porphyrines (uro-, copro-, and protoporphirine) and precursors (ALA and PBG) in blood and urine.

ü      Enzymes and substrates in the erythrocytes (G6PDH, PK, Glutathion reductase, 2,3 DPG, ATP, Porphobilinogen synthase and others).

The laboratory performs diagnostic methods that are the basic tests for the diagnosis of the hematological diseases, the follow – up of the applied therapy and diagnosing of complications of the diseases.

The diagnostic development of the laboratory is in the diagnosis of the different types of anemias with the help of specialize tests (enzymes and substrates in erythrocytes, serum and etc.).

The Clinical laboratory takes part in the practical education of postgraduates in clinical hematology and in clinical laboratory.
