History and Traditions The National Centre of Hematology and Transfusiology- NCHT in Sofia is a leading institution as far as the clinical and transfusion hematology is concerned. The centre has more than 50 years of history and traditions and it has established its authority with the countries of Southeastern Europe. The Centre comprises 4 sectoins: 1. Clinical hematology department Hematology clinic with 60 beds for diagnostics and therapy of patients with hematological deseases - Transplantation unit - Laboratories with modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods:
- Pharmacy 2. Laboratory Department "Diagnostics of Blood Diseases"
3. Transfusion hematology department
4. Department for preparation of treatment and diagnostic plasma products
The structure of NCHT faces the latest contemporary methods for diagnostics and treathment of blood diseases , for reception ,diagnostics and processing of blood and blood products. The clinic of NCHT is a national methodic organizing section for diagnostics of blood diseases and for determination of a treatment strategy at the highest contemporary level. Patients are cured at the clinic – healing methods, unique for the country, are applied there. Laboratory section “Diagnostics of blood diseases” comprises highly specialized laboratories which represent diagnostic consultative units in the field of hematology. Transfusion section is a methodical leader of the transfusion network in the country, which includes 4 major centres and 25 hospital wards of transfusion hematology. |
